Ironman Challenge

The Ironman Challenge is a series of fitness challenges to test two aspects of your child's health: muscular endurance and cardiovascular endurance.

Each challenge has a specific testing day and different levels of accomplishment. The levels are: Bronze (lowest level), Silver, Gold, and Kong (highest level).

The challenges, test days, and levels are:

Ridiculous Runners (Tuesday): students will be required to run/jog without stopping to walk or rest for a certain length of time.
Bronze: 5 minutes
Silver: 7 minutes

Gold: 10 minutes

Kong: 15 minutes

 

Jammin' Jumpers (Wednesday): students will be required to jump rope in any way without making a mistake or resting that requires them to stop jumping.

Bronze: 1 minute
Silver: 2 minutes
Gold: 3 minutes
Kong: 8 minutes

Powerful Pushers (Monday): students will perform push-ups correctly.
Bronze: 10
Silver: 13
Gold: 17
Kong: 25

Six-Pack Attack (Friday): students will perform as many sit-ups as possible in one minute with their arms folded across their chest.
Bronze: 15/min
Silver: 30/min
Gold: 45/min
Kong: 60/min

Overall challenge rules:

* Students may get on each poster if they wish to try for all four challenges.
* Students may only test for the challenge of the day
* Students only have one chance per day to attempt each challenge, but they may try each week

 

Ironman Competition
The ironman competition will be held at the end of the year, the date has yet to be determined. Students can qualify for this competition by obtaining KONG on ALL FOUR challenges. It will be a competition to assess who is the most fit student at Balfour.
