CIRCULATION POLICY
Circulation Policy
Check out limits are determined by grade level:
Kindergarten – 1 book
1st, 2nd and 3rd grades – 2 books
4th and 5th grades – 3 books
Books are checked out for a period of one week. No overdue fines are assessed, but students with books that are long overdue may have their checkout privileges restricted.
Students learn the proper care of library books beginning in kindergarten. It is important that students do not lose or damage their library books. A student who does lose or damage a book must pay the cost of that book. Library books not returned or paid for by the end of the year will result in the student’s yearbook and report card being held. If the book is not paid for/returned over the summer, the student will not be permitted to check out library books until payment is received.
Refund Policy: Sometimes books are lost and paid for, and then later found. If the item is returned to the Media Center before the last day of the current school year, a refund will be issued. Books returned after that date will not be refunded, as the money will have been used toward a replacement book. The returned book will be given back to the student to keep.
