Mission
Balfour Media Center’s mission is to promote information literacy, which is “the ability to find and use information,” (Information Power, 1). Our strategies to meet this mission include:

• Helping students become independent readers by providing a diverse collection that appeals to a variety of student interests.
• Providing learning opportunities that connect information skills to the curriculum areas taught in the classroom.
• Exposing students to several forms of technology, helping prepare students for further education and a career in the 21st century.
